You can now add an optional internal description to every survey. Use descriptions to capture the survey's purpose, intended audience, campaign details, or any other context your team needs without changing the experience for respondents.
What's new
- Add descriptions during setup: Enter an optional description alongside the survey name while creating a survey.
- Update descriptions later: Add, edit, or clear a description from the survey edit page as your plans change.
- Visible to your team: Descriptions appear in the survey overview on the details page, so workspace members can understand a survey without opening the edit flow.
- Preserved when cloning: A cloned survey carries over the original description, ready for you to update for the new version.
- Internal only: Survey descriptions help organize your team's work and are not displayed to respondents.
Why it matters
Survey names are useful for quick identification, but they do not always explain why a survey exists or how it should be used. Descriptions give everyone in your workspace a shared place for that context, making surveys easier to find, review, reuse, and hand over between teammates.
Get started
- Create a survey, then open the Content step.
- Add context in the optional Description field beneath the survey name.
- Continue configuring and publish the survey as usual.
- To revise the description later, open the survey, select Edit survey, and update Survey description under Survey settings.
Tip: Include details such as the survey goal, target audience, campaign name, owner, or expected end date so teammates can quickly understand when and why to use it.
