Integrating Novella with Slack

This guide shows how to connect Novella to Slack so new feedback can be shared automatically in your team channels.

What you can do with this integration

After connecting Slack, you can:

  • automatically send new Novella feedback to Slack,
  • choose the default channel where updates are posted,
  • disconnect Slack at any time.

Before you start

  • Make sure you can access Settings → Integrations in Novella.
  • Make sure you can install/authorize apps in your Slack workspace.
  • Decide which Slack channel should receive feedback updates.

Connect Slack

  1. In Novella, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. In the Slack section, click Connect Slack.
  3. In Slack, choose the workspace to connect.
  4. Review the requested permissions and click Allow.
  5. Return to Novella.

Once connected, the Slack card will show your connected workspace.

Choose your default Slack channel

  1. In Settings → Integrations, open the Slack channel dropdown.
  2. Select the channel where you want Novella feedback posted.
  3. Click Save channel.

Test the integration

  1. Submit a test response in Novella.
  2. Confirm a feedback message appears in the selected Slack channel.

If you don’t see the message right away, wait a few minutes and check again.

Troubleshooting

Your workspace may not have Slack enabled yet. Contact your Novella workspace admin.

No Slack channels appear in the dropdown

  • Confirm you authorized the correct Slack workspace.
  • Make sure the app has access to the channel.
  • In Slack, invite the Novella app to private channels if needed.
  • Reconnect Slack and try again.

Messages are not posting to Slack

  • Confirm the correct default channel is selected and saved.
  • Send another test response.
  • Reconnect Slack if delivery still fails.

Disconnect Slack
